We're very excited to announce that we're acquiring 01 Exchange to bring everything together under one full stack financial network.
Starting now, all trading activity will move to app.n1.xyz. No asset migration is required, user funds are unaffected by the transition, and every point earned on 01 will be recognized.
Last year, we wrote that L1s are not just infrastructure. Networks that operate only like infrastructure companies risk selling commodity compute while the most important value accrues at the application layer. The strongest position is owning the full stack: infrastructure, product, liquidity, distribution, and user experience.
This acquisition puts that thesis into practice.
Incubation was step one. This is step two.
01 Exchange was the first application built this way: incubated within the N1 ecosystem and running on N1's infrastructure. It has processed more than $3B in trading volume across more than 25,000 traders.
We started with the internal ecosystem approach because it was the fastest way to bring the network into production. Now we are going further. Full ownership gives us what incubation cannot: one team, one product direction, one roadmap — and one product experience for users.
The strongest version of N1 has its flagship products in-house. A network that owns its core applications can control quality, distribution, and value capture in a way that pure infrastructure — or even an incubating partner — cannot.
The exchanges that define the next decade will be vertically integrated. That is who we intend to compete with.
01 Users
The transition happens now, and it is designed to be simple.
- 01 is sunset as a separate destination, effective immediately. app.n1.xyz is the venue.
- No asset migration is required. Funds are unaffected.
- Every point earned on 01 will count and will be visible on app.n1.xyz. We will soon launch the first season of N1 points.
- Referral rewards moving forward will permanently increase to 10%.
Because N1 built the margining engine and orderbook, there will be no slowdown — quite the opposite. We expect things to move much faster than before.
What comes next
N1 2.0, the major network upgrade we internally call Nord Nova, is the next major version of the network. It is designed to bring deeper liquidity, more markets, RFQ, vaults, equities, and additional on-chain financial products to N1. We will share more with the release.
Additionally, native iOS and Android apps are in internal testing and will be released very soon. We are excited to bring the best mobile experience to the market.
